Under the hood of the Yukon, you will find one of three available powertrains: a 5.3L V8, a 6.2L V8, or a 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel. The 5.3L V8 unlocks the Yukon’s maximum towing capabilities of 8,400 lbs. The 6.2L V8 gives you an impressive 420 hp with a maximum towing ability of 8,200 lbs. If it’s the optimal fuel economy you’re after, you’ll want to upgrade to the 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel. It is the most efficient of all three options while still delivering a towing capacity of 8,100 lbs.
The GMC Yukon is available in rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. If your priority is optimal fuel economy and towing capacity, opt for a rear-wheel drive variant; if off-roading or wet, muddy roads are in your future, you’ll want a four-wheel drive model. Opt for second-row bucket seats for the seven-passenger variant, a second-row bench seat for eight-passenger capacity, or bench seats in all three rows (only available on the SLE trim) for a total of nine seats. Many drivers love that you can enjoy the tremendous power and comfort of the Yukon in so many seating configurations.
You can even further adjust the seats to make more cargo room when you need it. When you have second and third-row bench seats, they’ll all boast 60/40 split-folding designs, so you can choose how you make more cargo space. Get second-row bucket seats, and these will fold down quickly with one easy lever. In total, the 2024 Yukon offers up to 144.7 cu.ft. of cargo space in its XL variant, with all rear seats folded down.
Relax In Comfort
On the comfort front, the driver and front-seat passenger will be more than content with the available 16-way power front seats with a massage feature. Thanks to this function, you’ll arrive at your destination feeling relaxed rather than sore after long drives. Passengers can enjoy their perfect climate thanks to automatic tri-zone climate control. That means everyone, from front to back, has a choice in the temperature. It also means that each time you turn the vehicle on, it will recall the preferred temperature setting of each zone and return to that.
You can also get the available memory settings, which will recall the preferred seating preferences for up to two drivers. With this memory function, the vehicle will also recall your preferred outside mirror settings, as well as the position of your steering wheel. Each time you start the car, the vehicle will return your seat and exterior mirrors to perfect positions without having to manually reset everything.
