Exciting New Changes for the 2025 GMC Yukon

More performant, more muscular, and more tech-rich in every way, the 2025 GMC Yukon represents a bold new direction for GMC’s flagship SUV, introducing plenty of new features that make it enticing for shoppers in the market for a full-size SUV. But what makes the 2025 model so much more enticing than the outgoing one, and why should you want one? A lot of it has to do with new design and tech features.
One of the biggest changes of the year, however, is the introduction of a brand new trim, giving you more ways of traveling off-road. We’ll cover all of these new features, updates, and the trim of the 2025 Yukon; by the end, you can decide if this is the SUV for you. Improved Interior and Exterior Designs
The revamped look of the 2025 Yukon is heralded by the styling changes, which include an all-new interlinking grille design and a modified housing for the LED lighting array. The differences aren’t huge, but there are still changes in how the vehicle appears with its stance, especially in the AT4 and AT4 Ultimate trims. For instance, one of the biggest new changes is the lower fascia on those two trims, which now has a highlighted surround for the front recovery hooks and a more obscured skid plate that sits underneath the tow hooks rather than coming up between them like in the outgoing model year.
For 2025, new headlamp and taillamp animated start-ups have also been added, giving the Yukon a more lively appearance when approaching, entering, exiting, or starting up the vehicle. In addition to the new unique grille patterns, the Yukon also now has laser-etched 24-inch eight-spoke machined wheels for the Denali Ultimate trim, making an appearance for the first time. The interior has also been rearranged around the new touchscreen display, along with the new open-pore wood accents with laser-etched topographical patterns.
Another first for the GMC Yukon is the new set of captain’s chairs for the second row. While the 2025 Yukon can seat up to eight people across three rows, you can swap out the middle bench seat for a pair of captain’s chairs instead; this turns it into a seven-seater while adding additional luxury options for the middle row, as well as easier access to the third row. This is an excellent option if you want a more spacious cabin design, which is perfect for executive ride-sharing services. An open-air aesthetic is achievable with a panoramic sunroof that adds to the luxury appeal and the spaciousness of the interior.

Infotainment Upgrade With Advanced Features
The interior rework for the 2025 Yukon is centered around the all-new center console stack featuring the upgraded infotainment suite. The outgoing model year’s 10.2-inch touchscreen was already impressive, but GMC decided to up the ante by increasing the size of that touchscreen to an impressive 16.8 inches. This gives you a larger, clearer display in the center of the dashboard for you to view a number of different features.
You still have everything that makes the infotainment suite in the Yukon exciting, including vehicle health status reports so you can monitor all of the important travel and maintenance information. You have Google Play for your apps, and camera controls for when traveling off-road. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enable you to project your phone onto this system, and you still have Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity for multiple devices, using your SUV to keep your devices connected while on the go. You also have access to trailering apps so that you can make use of 8,400 lbs of towing might when properly equipped.
The 11-inch digital driver display cluster continues its functionality, enabling you to monitor telemetry and travel information; it also received a nice upgrade in the form of night vision thermal imaging for pedestrian and object detection, which makes it safer to drive at night. It works in conjunction with the available head-up display so that you have all of your needed information on the windshield in front of you; this coincides with the infotainment stack, including three available displays in the second row: there is one display in the back of the center armrest, and the other two displays are 12.6-inch touchscreens with HDMI support on the back of the front-seat headrests.

New AT4 Ultimate Trim Enhances Off-Roading
One of the most exciting new elements for the 2025 Yukon is the brand-new trim, the AT4 Ultimate. It offers a new configuration for GMC’s premier full-size SUV, with noteworthy off-road capabilities and functional performance enhancements; these give it a lot more versatility both on and off the road, especially for those looking for a luxury SUV with plenty of comfort and convenience features that you can easily and efficiently take off-road. This brings a lavish lifestyle to camping trips, kayaking, hiking, and other outdoor activities.
The AT4 Ultimate features everything the AT4 has but with bonuses, including the availability of the new night vision system. It also comes standard with the 8-inch climate control touchscreen in the second row and 16-way power front seats with massage capabilities. You have Obsidian Rush full-grain leather upholstery with Bose’s premium 18-speaker surround sound system. Plus, the AT4 Ultimate comes standard with Super Cruise, granting semi-autonomous hands-free driving for those who want the Yukon to do most of the traveling for you on compatible highways throughout the United States and Canada.
But beyond the comfort and convenience that makes the AT4 Ultimate a real joy, it’s also chock full of capable performance features, coming standard with the 6.2-liter V8 engine that makes 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. However, there is the option for the 3.0-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel, which has seen an upgrade in its capabilities for 2025, making 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, which is approximately 9% more horsepower and nearly 7% more torque than the outgoing model year. So you get better top speeds and acceleration with the 2025 Yukon’s diesel engine than you would with the 2024 model’s diesel engine.
Plus, the AT4 Ultimate comes standard with skid plates and 20-inch wheels tucked into all-terrain tires. The four-corner Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, which can raise the vehicle two inches higher than normal for better ground clearance and approach angles, is also standard. This dynamic adjustment is perfect for making the Yukon more aerodynamic on the highway while making it more rugged and capable when venturing on off-road trails or dirt roads. Simply put, the AT4 Ultimate is the most comprehensive off-road iteration of the Yukon yet.
